About this pack
Description
KCP Nutri Poshan HMT Regular Rice is a medium-grain white rice for households that cook rice every day. The grains are well milled and uniform, so they cook evenly and stay soft yet separate instead of turning sticky.
HMT is preferred across Indian homes for its lightweight nature, smooth texture and mild natural aroma. It pairs naturally with dal, curries, sambar and rasam, and holds its texture in lemon rice, tamarind rice, pongal and curd rice.

The rice you cook every day
deserves the same care
From the field to your kitchen
Sourcing
Paddy is bought by variety, not mixed lots, so each pack cooks the way that variety should.
Milling and ageing
Milled to an even polish, then aged to bring the moisture down before packing.
Sorting
Graded to remove broken grain, husk and stone so the pack needs no picking at home.
How to cook it
Nothing unusual. It behaves like the rice you already use.
Adjust water to taste — a little less for firmer grains, a little more for softer.
- Rinse two to three times until the water runs clear
- Soak for 15 to 20 minutes if you want longer, softer grains
- Use roughly 2 cups water to 1 cup rice in an open pot
- Pressure cooker: 1 : 1.5 and two whistles
- Rest for 5 minutes before opening and fluffing
Keeping it fresh
Rice keeps well when it is kept dry.

FAQ
Have questions? We've got answers.
What is the difference between raw and aged raw rice?
Both are raw, not parboiled. Aged rice has been rested before packing, which lowers its moisture. It separates better and turns less sticky, which is why many homes prefer it for everyday meals.
Is this the same as your Multi Vitamin rice?
No. This is plain rice with nothing added. The Multi Vitamin range is fortified rice carrying eight micronutrients. Both are on this site under separate categories.
Do I need to soak it before cooking?
Not necessary. Soaking for 15 to 20 minutes gives slightly longer, softer grains and cuts the cooking time a little.
How long will a 26 Kg pack stay good?
Until the best-before date on the pack, provided it is kept dry and airtight. Rice spoils from moisture and pests, not from age alone.
