Multivitamin Rice — FAQs

Have questions? We've got answers.

Does it taste different from normal rice?

No. It is the same rice you already cook, with fortified rice kernels blended in. Same taste, same aroma, same texture, same cooking time and same cooking method.

Do the nutrients wash away when I rinse the rice?

The nutrients are embedded inside the kernel rather than sprayed on the surface, so ordinary rinsing does not carry them away. Just make sure you don't drain out the kernels while rinsing the rice.

Is it safe for children and older people?

It is an everyday food for the whole family. If someone at home is on a restricted diet or under treatment, check with their doctor first.

How is this different from a supplement?

A supplement is a separate thing to remember. This is the rice already on the plate twice a day, so nothing new has to be added to the routine.

What makes KCP Multivitamin Rice different?

Enriched with eight micronutrients. Your regular rice + Vitamin A, B1, B3, B6, B9, B12, iron and zinc, added in the form of fortified rice kernels (FRK).

Built into the kernel, not sprayed on. The nutrients sit inside the kernel — blended in at a 1:100 ratio — so they stay through cooking rather than washing off the surface.

Nothing changes in your kitchen. No change in taste, colour, texture, digestibility, adaptability or cooking method. Every recipe works exactly as before.

What is in a KCP Multivitamin Rice pack?

Rice and fortified rice kernels (rice flour, iron as ferric pyrophosphate, folic acid, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B3, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12). Nutrition values per 100 g are printed on the back of every pack and shown on each product page.

Regular Rice — FAQs

Are both raw rice and aged raw rice aged for a similar amount of time?

Yes. Both are aged and raw — well rested before packing, which lowers the moisture. It separates better and gives fluffy, aromatic rice on cooking, which is why many homes prefer it for everyday meals.

Is this the same as your Multivitamin rice?

No. This is plain rice with nothing added. The Multivitamin range is fortified rice carrying eight micronutrients. Both are on this site under separate categories.

Do I need to soak it before cooking?

Not necessary. Soak only if your recipe recommends it.

How long will a 26 Kg pack stay good?

Until the best-before date on the pack, provided it is kept dry and airtight. Rice spoils from moisture and pests, not from age alone.

How should I cook it?

Nothing unusual — it behaves like the rice you already use. Rinse two to three times until the water runs clear. Ideal water to rice ratio is 2 : 1; adjust according to the texture you want. Pressure cooker: two to three whistles. Rest for 5 minutes before opening and fluffing.

Process of Rice Fortification

Nutrient premix

Nutrient premix

Eight nutrients — iron, zinc, vitamin A, B1, B3, B6, folic acid and B12 — measured to a fixed formulation, not left to soil or season. The premix is sourced from world-class premix providers.

Extruded into kernels

Extruded into kernels

Rice flour and the premix are blended evenly at prescribed ratios, in line with the norms, and formed into fortified rice kernels (FRK) on BIS-standard machinery in a GHP, HACCP and FSSC 22000 certified facility. The nutrients are embedded inside the kernel, so they stay in even after washing.

Blended into rice

Blended into rice

The kernels are blended into KCP rice at a controlled ratio, then batch-tested so every pack carries the same declared levels.

Nutrition you can measure, in every batch.
